Are there Devil’s Graveyards Around the World? | Vile Vortices | Part 2

As we know already from part-1 that there are a total of 12 vile vortices spread equally across the Tropic of Cancer, the Tropic of Capricorn, and include the North Pole and the South Pole, that has been responsible for numerous unexplained mysterious phenomena.  Vile vortices are those areas where the pull of the planet’s electromagnetic force is stronger than anywhere else on the entire planet.

In this blog, we will look into the mysterious stories and local legends related to all vile vortices in Tropic of Cancer.

• The Bermuda Triangle
• Mohenjo-Daro

The Bermuda Triangle

Bermuda Triangle is one of the most mysterious places on this planet. It is an area of the Atlantic Ocean between 500,000 – 1,510,000 square miles in size which is located off the South-eastern coast of the US in the Atlantic Ocean, between Bermuda, Florida, and Puerto Rico, this region has become the center of unresolved mysteries. It is also known as the Devil’s Triangle.

Before looking into the mysterious stories related to Bermuda Triangle, it is necessary to know some points about Bermuda Triangle to clear false assumptions.

• The Bermuda Triangle sustains heavy daily traffic, both by sea and by air.
• The Bermuda Triangle is one of the most heavily traveled shipping lanes in the world.
• The agonic line sometimes passes through the Bermuda Triangle, including a period in the early 20th century. An agonic line is a place on Earth’s surface where true north and magnetic north align, and there is no need to account for magnetic declination on a compass.
• The Bermuda Triangle is subject to frequent tropical storms and hurricanes.

By the above points, it’s clear that many times people have sailed or flown over the area and not noticed anything out of the ordinary but there are several cases that occurred suddenly out of nowhere in the area that have no explanation for its occurrence. Many scientists believe this area is also prone to sudden geomagnetic anomalies. But still, researches are going on for the proper explanation.

• One of the famous story related to Bermuda triangle date back to 1492 when Christopher Columbus sailed through this area across the Atlantic Ocean on his first voyage to the New World, he reported that a great flame of fire crashed into the sea one night and that a strange light appeared in the distance a few weeks later. The most unusual thing that Columbus reported that he saw a glowing object coming out of the water and shooting towards the sky. He also wrote about sudden erratic compass readings, perhaps it may be because the agonic line sometimes passes through the Bermuda Triangle and an agonic line is a place on Earth’s surface where true north and magnetic north align.
• The mysterious disappearances in this area were mostly overlooked until Flight 19 case on December 5, 1945. Flight 19 was a training flight of five TBM Avenger torpedo bombers carrying 14 men, which disappeared after taking off from the Fort Lauderdale Naval Air Station on a routine patrol (navigation and combat training exercise). Each of the 5 aircraft was fully fueled and checked before the flight and it was a clear day favorable for flight. But suddenly during flight, all 5 bombers were having issues with their compass and other navigational devices. They reported this to the head station but after some time they disappeared from the radar. The Navy immediately launched two seaplanes to search for 5 missing aircraft. Just 20 min after take-off they too disappeared. Later many searches occur in the area but not a single trace of aircraft or anything was found, it was like they just vanished in the sky.
• The Ellen Austin was a large cargo ship. In 1881, the crew onboard found a small ship drifting along, within the Bermuda Triangle. They decided that it had been abandoned because they found no one in it but food, personal belongings, etc was there, except the caption’s logbook and ship’s nameplate. Captain Baker ordered four members of his crew to board the unnamed ship and sail it to New York. After two days both ships separated due to the storm and then several days later Ellen Austin again found the same ship drifting erratically in the sea. When they checked it they found no one in it so, Captain Baker ordered a new crew to board it but strangely the new crew disappeared too and Ellen Austin left that ship in the sea because people got afraid after seeing these missing incidents.
• A US Navy ship called the USS Cyclops set off on a journey from Brazil to Baltimore, USA. The ship was almost 170 meters long and had a crew of 306 sailors aboard. On the ninth day of the ship’s journey, it vanished without any distress call and it has never been seen or heard from again. No explanation was given for its disappearance, and no wreckage was found.
• Did you know? After gaining widespread fame as the first person to sail solo around the globe, Joshua Slocum disappeared on a 1909 voyage from Martha’s Vineyard to South America. Though it’s unclear exactly what happened, many sources later attributed his death to the Bermuda Triangle.
• One bizarre experience of Pilot Bruce Gernon, who was flying from Andros Islands (Bahamas) to the coast of Florida in a flight called Beechcraft Bonanza having 2 more people with him on December 4, 1970. Bruce had flown through the Bermuda triangle many times and had never experienced anything mysterious until December 4, 1970. The normal time for a flight from the Bahamas to the coast of Florida would have taken one and a half hours approximately. Bruce took off the land and as soon as he reached 1000 ft., he saw a lenticular-shaped cloud formation in his path which kept growing bigger. As he started passing through the cloud, they saw lighting inside it which was getting more and more intensified as deeper they were going. Turning back the plane in such a condition was not easy so they decided to pull out of the cloud. But when they come out of the cloud, they realized the situation was even worse than they thought. Their plane was surrounded by all sides by a giant storm. They lost their radio communication from the station and were also not visible on the radar. They were trapped inside a sudden strange storm, then suddenly Bruce (main pilot) noticed a tunnel-like formation in a storm which was approx. a mile wide and 10 miles long. After discussing with others in-plane they decided to pass through it in the hope to come out of the storm. In that tunnel, the plane system started malfunctioning, they were feeling like they were floating and somehow moving forward. As soon as the plane came out of the tunnel, the plane system was back to normal. Bruce looked back and saw the tunnel collapsing. Just after it, they heard a voice on the radar that they are above Palm Beach. Bruce was astonished he didn’t believe them but when he saw they were really on top of Palm Beach. It had only been just 47 minutes but his plane couldn’t go faster than 180 miles/hour, so it would be physically impossible for the plane to have taken 47 minutes from the Bahamas to Palm Beach which are 201 miles apart (usually it takes 75 min). So, the question which remains still unanswered that how they traveled 201 miles in just 47 mins?
• In the Bermuda triangle, the exact number of ships and airplanes that have disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle is not known but it is estimated more than 50 ships and 20 airplanes are said to have mysteriously disappeared. The wreckage of those ships and airplanes reported missing in the region has not been recovered till now. There was no trace of their disappearances.

Mohenjo-Daro

Mohenjo-Daro which means ‘Mound of the Dead Men’  is an archaeological site in the province of Sindh, Pakistan. Built around 2500 BCE, it was one of the largest settlements of the ancient Indus Valley Civilisation, and one of the world’s earliest major cities. Mohenjo-Daro was abandoned in the 19th century BCE as the Indus Valley Civilization declined, and the site was not rediscovered until the 1920s.

However, in contrast to the well-appointed houses and clean streets, the uppermost levels at Mohenjo-Daro contained squalid makeshift dwellings, a careless intermingling of residential and industrial activity, and, most significantly, a series of more than 40 sprawled skeletons lying scattered in streets and houses. Numerous other skeletons were found within layers of rubble, ash, and debris, or lying in the streets in contorted positions that suggested the agonies of violent death.

The Ancient City of Mohenjo-Daro Has Survived 5 Millennia but May Disappear in 2 Decades.

And then there is the question of where the rest of the inhabitants are? Archaeologists estimate that at its peak, Mohenjo-Daro was home to some 40,000 people. So why only forty-four bodies? To date, no cemetery has ever been found in Mohenjo-Daro or its surroundings.

There were many objects found within the ruins that seem to be fused together from the heat that would have to be at least 1500°C to do so, as well as melted bricks only from a single direction. One of the skeletons brought to a lab for research had 50 times the radiation level normally found in a human body. The only known weaponry that causes devastation in the manner found at Mohenjo-Daro is atomic which is a suggested theory.

One other theory suggests that declining monsoons impacted water availability in Ghaggar-Hakra (an intermittent river in India and Pakistan that flows only during the monsoon season) and that in turn caused the societal changes. Around 4000 years back, a dramatic climate change happened across North Africa, the Middle East, the Tibetan Plateau, southern Europe, and North America. In India, during that period, there was an abrupt shift in monsoons, which lasted two centuries. In general, if you observe the patterns of recent years, monsoons have strong years and weak years, but they rarely deviate far away from the mean due to the dynamic feedback systems. It is a self-regulating system, but there have been occasions when the anomaly has lasted for few decades. But what happened 4,000 years back was truly unusual; it was an anomaly larger than anything the subcontinent had faced since in the last 10,000 years.

There are many fascinating tales concerning this fallen ancient city that we shall never know about.

The Devil’s Sea

It is located near the Japanese coast in the Pacific Ocean and also known as Dragon’s Triangle. The Dragon’s Triangle extends as a triangle between Japan and the Islands of Bonin, including a major portion of the Philippine Sea.

The area has also been called the Pacific Bermuda Triangle, denoting its position that is precisely opposite to the Bermuda Triangle and the similarities in the “paranormal phenomena” of the area with that of the Bermuda Triangle. Such an infamous reputation for this oceanic area has been not gained contemporarily but exists for decades and even centuries if some records are to be believed.

• To begin with, the term dragon in the other name of Devil Sea originates from the centuries-old Chinese myth about dragons existing below the water surface. According to these, the dragons under the sea attack vessels passing by to satiate their hunger, and their movement can suddenly churn up waves, whirlpools, thick fog, and sudden storms. With their emphasis on the presence of mythical creatures like dragons, these fables have made a huge impact on the legends and mysterious stories created in the years to come.
• Similarly, the Japanese name “Ma-No Umi,” which means the Sea of the Devil, was originally coined by the Japanese countrymen years ago when the stories of paranormal phenomena in the sea were popularised. The superstitions associated with the Devil’s Sea always haunted the Japanese from venturing into this part of the ocean right from centuries past.
• In the later century, especially in the 1940s and 1950s, a number of fishing vessels and over five military vessels were disappeared in the sea, in an area that lies between Miyake Island and Iwo Jima. As a result, Japan sent a research ship named Kaio Maru No.5 in 1952 to investigate the previously missing vessels that had been reported to have gone missing in the Dragon’s Triangle without any trace. However, the research vessels with 31 crew members abroad also met the destiny of previous vessels which went to the Devil’s sea. Following this incident, the Japanese government reportedly declared this area dangerous for marine voyaging and transporting goods.
• When Ivan T. Sanderson appeared on The Dick Cavett Show to discuss his theories, expecting to go head to head with the very vocal critic, Arthur Godfrey, he was astonished to find that Godfrey had his own tales of strange occurrences to share, beginning with a report of his radio and other instruments going off while flying over the Devil’s Sea.
• Like the Bermuda Triangle, the Devil’s Triangle area may be volatile, subject to sudden weather changes and ocean swells not yet understood. None of the incidents have been explained with sufficient proof and naturally, the legend has grown stronger with each following incident.

The Megalithic Ruins of Algeria

The next area to catch Sir Ivan T. Sanderson’s attention was in the Mediterranean, near the site of the Algerian megaliths. Algeria has many megalithic remains, of which nearly every known kind has been found in the country. The megaliths themselves are a source of mystery. The Algerian megaliths were a burial ground by the Zing empire, one of the most ancient civilizations on this planet. These megaliths are an architectural anomaly, showing how advanced these people were for a time when we didn’t have the technology to help us build stable constructions.

The magnetic activity is the most intense. To this day, whoever flies over this part of the Sahara Desert often does not return. Also, compasses spin like cray, and electronics start wigging out in this spot. People who go there reported that this area is covered with a heavy and dark aura which you can instantly feel once you enter it.

Hamakulia

With four areas in a straight line, each one seventy-two degrees away from the one before it, Sanderson and his team plotted the fifth which would complete the circle. The location turned out to be just to the northeast of the Hawaiian Islands, which happens to be the location of the underwater Hamakulia Volcano. According to scientists, the trouble spot is actually in the ocean itself northeast of Hawaii halfway between the Murau Fracture Zone and the Molokai Fracture Zone. Local legends tell of the strange disappearance of ships and planes seemingly centered around that area.

For one, locals say that strange lights can sometimes be seen around the volcano, and have for a very long time. This volcano is also particularly active because it is right along the “ring of fire” (The Ring of Fire is a region around much of the rim of the Pacific Ocean where many volcanic eruptions and earthquakes occur). It is one of the prone sites of ship and plane disappearances. Scientists also say that the area around the volcano is prone to piezomagnetic effects, which means that magnetization of rocks and strange electrical energy could be flowing throughout the region. So, it could be that planes and ships find that this interferes with their navigation equipment. But still today Hamakulia is surrounded with many questions whose answers we don’t know.
